About song
translation (by Ian S. Cook, aka Ianbrazilian):
Translating songs is not easy. However, it is most pleasant when you are
involved by the music and really like the musician. To translate Sarah's
songs to Portuguese was, and still is, an extremely rewarding work!
I kindly ask you to observe the following:
1. Song translation is not mathematical, nor exact. The same
interpretation needed to understand song lyrics are required when
translating a certain piece. Hence, it varies from person not person.
Suggestions and/or "corrections" are more than welcome!
2. All songs were translated through their English version. This way, "Nessun
Dorma", for example, was NOT translated directly from the Italian language.
Therefore, although I have made a big effort trying to check by looking at
the original lyrics, the English language has prevailed. I am sorry for
that but, as you know, to be able to translate Sarah's songs from the
original language, one must be able to speak English, Spanish, French,
Italian, Russian, Latin, Arabic, Hebrew…
3. Some songs written in English will have that ambiguous gender thingie…
As you know, "Did you ever think of me, as your best friend", the "friend"
can be either male or female. This way, when this thing happened, I have
tried to maintain a standard as to make it a feminine song. (Sarah has
even changed the gender of some songs, as in "Scarborough Fair", for
example).
4. Please note that this has been made with quite an endeavour by myself,
and is maintained in Márcia's website which is kept and updated with a
great effort by her as well. Therefore, please do mention the proper
credits when using the data contained herein!
5. If you get the chance, DO meet Sarah Brightman in person. Go to CD
signings, TV appearances, concerts! You will get an estimate impression of
what an ANGEL looks and sounds like!

Sobre traduções de músicas (por Ian S. Cook):
A tarefa de traduzir músicas não é das mais fáceis. Contudo, é uma das
mais prazerosas quando você está envolvido na música e realmente gosta do
músico. Traduzir as músicas da Sarah para o Português é, e continua a ser,
para mim, um trabalho extremamente recompensador!
Por favor, observe o seguinte:
1. A tradução de uma música não é matemática, nem exata. A mesma
interpretação necessária para se entender as letras de uma música são
necessárias ao traduzir uma determinada canção. Dessa forma, ela varia de
pessoa para pessoa. Sugestões e/ou "correções" são mais que bem-vindas!
2. Todas as músicas foram traduzidas diretamente de sua versão em inglês.
Dessa forma, "Nessun Dorma", por exemplo, não foi traduzida diretamente do
italiano. Assim sendo, embora eu tenha feito um grande esforço checando a
versão original das letras, a língua inglesa sempre prevaleceu. Peço
desculpas por isso, mas, como se sabe, para traduzir as letras das músicas
da Sarah a partir de sua versão original, alguém tem que saber falar
inglês, espanhol, francês, italiano, russo, latim, árabe, hebraico, …
3. Algumas letras em inglês têm aquele problema ambíguo causado pelo "eu
lírico". Como se sabe, "Did you ever think of me, as your best friend", o
"friend" poderia tanto ser masculino quanto feminino. Dessa forma, quando
isso aconteceu, tentei manter um padrão tornado a música feminina. ( A
Sarah até mesmo já mudou algumas letras, como em "Scarborough Fair",
por exemplo).
4. Queira notar que este trabalho foi feito com um considerável esforço
pessoal, e é mantido e atualizado no site da Márcia com grande esforço da
parte dela também. Dessa forma, por favor, dê os devidos créditos quando
usar as informações aqui contidas!
5. Tendo a chance, conheça a Sarah Brightman pessoalmente. Vá a sessões de
autógrafos, aparições na TV, shows. Você terá uma boa idéia de como é o
visual e a voz de um anjo!!!
